CAMPANELLI STADIUM & THE SHAW’S CENTER
Brockton MA
J.K. Holmgren Engineering, Inc. (JKHE) was contracted by the Mayor of the City of Brockton to provide surveying services for a new 4,700 seat baseball stadium (Campanelli Stadium) and conference facility (now the Shaw’s Center) to be located adjacent to Brockton High School.
JKHE’s services included extensive research at the municipal and county level. The scope of work included a complete topographic and boundary survey; soil evaluations; wetlands location; complete site design, drainage design in accordance with the Stormwater Policies and engineering drawings for presentation to the City of Brockton. JKHE was instrumental in meeting the “opening day” deadline for the stadium working hand in hand with architects and construction personnel in the field to ensure accurate locations of pylons, footings, anchor bolts, and structures in real time. Campanelli Stadium broke ground in July of 2001 and was ready for baseball in May of 2002.
JKHE represented our client at various environmental hearings as well as the Site Plan Review Board.
The site posed some particular engineering constraints due to the proximity of the West Meadow Brook and other wetland resource areas that came under the provisions of the Wetlands Protection Act.
